The rain came, as predicted, but the Kelowna Rockets and Beaumont Drillers were able to complete their ballgame.

Starting pitcher Eric Thornton fulfilled his part of the bargain, helping the Kelowna Rockets stymie the Beaumont Drillers, 6-2. Thornton got the win, improving to 2-1. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Kelowna used the hitting of Ralph Nattrass to pick up the win. The catcher clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Rockets on top, 6-2. For the game, Nattrass had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"I didn't want to let them take the game from my hands," said Thornton.
