Bishops Absorb 9-5 Loss at The Stetson Bowl
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Justin Jackson, the Fraser Valley Black Bears defeated the Evanston Bishops, 9-5. Jackson was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk for the Black Bears. Justin Hornick notched his 2nd save of the season. At 34-30, Fraser Valley is in third place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division.

Chris Ortega had a big bases-clearing double for the Black Bears in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Fraser Valley leading 3-2 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Rick Upton, who is tied for 9th in the TAA in innings pitched with 83.0, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Black Bears ahead, 6-2.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Jackson.
