Bishops Earn 7-5 Win Against Black Bears
Gary Juneau led the charge as the Evanston Bishops defeated the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 7-5, in 10 innings at The Stetson Bowl. Juneau, who is tied for 7th in the TAA with a .582 slugging percentage, went 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Calvin Hayward, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Jerry Bamberg, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 9th save.

It could have been a different outcome for Evanston, had it not been for Larry Gilliland, the 19-year old second baseman . Gilliland contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Evanston up, 6-5.

"No one wins," Gilliland said, "without the will to win."

Evanston has now reeled off 6 straight wins.
