Monarchs Beat Visiting Hawks, 6-4
|
The first-place Marysville Monarchs picked up another win at Mitts Fieldhouse.
Marysville third baseman Jesus Gres was a significant contributor in his team's 6-4 triumph over the Boise Hawks. He was 1 for 1 with a double and 3 walks for Marysville. Marysville reliever Yukio Inouye picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Tim O'Shana was collared with the loss. Aaron Lentz, credited with the save, is now 5 for 5 in save opportunities.
The Monarchs got a big boost from second baseman Hector Nieves who had a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning off Hawks hurler Tim O'Shana. It was his 18th RBI of the season and put Marysville on top, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Gres. "And not try to do too much."
Marysville leads the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division by 6 games.
