The Kelowna Rockets rode a solid performance from 24-year-old starting pitcher Eric Thornton to a win, beating the Louisiana Crocodiles, 4-2, at Joey Naples Memorial Colloseum. Zach Clark was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities. The win elevated the Rockets to 34-27.
Tyler Sertic, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2060 draft, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Kelowna shortstop hit a run-scoring single. That put the Rockets in front, 2-1.
In postgame remarks, Sertic hailed his team's "grit."
