Silicon Valley beat Wichita at San Jose Municipal Stadium, eking out a 4-3 win. The triumph was primarily due to left fielder Dennis Roberts. He was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Silicon Valley pitcher Jose Alvarez got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alex Gonzalez got the loss. Branden Severns locked down his 6th save.

Justin Sheridan had a big solo home run for the Hackers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Silicon Valley leading 3-2 and the bases empty, he sized up a splitter from 20-year old right-handed pitcher Alex Gonzalez and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Hackers on top, 4-2.

Roberts told a Silicon Valley News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

Silicon Valley occupies first place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League at 46-22.
