Win Makes Beaumont 36-32
The Beaumont Drillers went home winners at Drillers Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Alex Martinez. Martinez stifled the Evanston Bishops, enabling Beaumont to grab the 5-0 win. Martinez picked up the win for Beaumont, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. Caspar Twomey earned the save for Beaumont.

Cliff Stretton had a big 2-run double for the Drillers in the bottom of the second inning. With Beaumont leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from Caleb Brock, who is tied for 5th in the TAA with a 1.25 WHIP, and swatted a double to right. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Drillers ahead, 3-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Stretton told the Beaumont Gazette. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Beaumont, now 36-32, holds down third place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League.
