Rollers Take Down Spartans, 4-3
|
The Atlantic City Rollers clipped the Sandy Springs Spartans, 4-3, in 12 innings at Casino Grounds. The standout performance belonged to Atlantic City pitcher and Nagano, Japan, native Soh Fukuda. Atlantic City reliever Davian Viteka got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Bobby Matthews was tagged with the loss. The triumph makes Atlantic City 19-38.
The decisive blow was delivered by Fernando Cardenas in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Bobby Matthews to win the game for Atlantic City. The home crowd went nuts.
"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso.
