Spartans Take Down Rollers, 3-1

Sandy Springs picked up a win at Casino Grounds, bumping off the Atlantic City Rollers, 3-1. Pitcher Jeff Stephens was a major reason the Spartans emerged victorious. Stephens, now 3-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing no runs. Josh Wahl recorded the save, his 13th.
Sandy Springs used the timely hitting of Nick Rausch to capture the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Spartans on top, 2-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager .
The losing streak for Atlantic City has now reached 5 games.
