The Marysville Monarchs got a superb performance from pitcher Dan Baughman, but the DeKalb Cornhuskers still won the game, 6-4. Baughman came in in relief and pitched to 18 batters. The third-place Cornhuskers now sit at 36-30.

Shortstop Andy LeBaron made an impact for DeKalb, when he swatted a 3-run home run off Alex Gurule in the top of the fourth. For the contest, LeBaron went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," LeBaron told the DeKalb Observer. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
