With 9-6 Win, Bishops Go to 33-27
The Evanston Bishops beat the Beaumont Drillers, 9-6, at Drillers Stadium. Travis Brackett, in particular, was impressive. He went 1 for 1 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Nick Fortenberry earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Jesus Sanchez closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

In the top of the seventh, the Bishops grabbed the lead when Brackett hit his 2nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run off David Sasser made it 9-6, Evanston.

In comments to the Evanston Daily, Brackett admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."

The Bishops now have a record of 33-27 with the win over Beaumont.
