Spartans Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras

Getting an impressive start from Sean Harris, Sandy Springs beat DeKalb by the score of 3-2. Sandy Springs reliever Omar Cruz picked up the win to move to 3-0. Alex Garza suffered the loss. The Spartans improve their record to 33-27 with the win over DeKalb.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Ben Mills came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing DeKalb pitcher Alex Garza, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Sandy Springs on top, 3-2.
"We played hard and won," said Harris. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
