Black Bears Subdue Rock River, 6-4
|
The Rock River Rats got a superb performance from third baseman Cameron Lucy. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Fraser Valley. The Black Bears won the game, 6-4. In spite of the loss, Lucy was named the player of the game. He went 2 for 2 with a triple, a double, and 2 walks. Fraser Valley reliever Jonathan Gonzalez picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Steve Georgiadis was saddled with the loss. Fraser Valley has now won 3 in a row.
Andres Cordon helped out the Fraser Valley cause in the bottom of the second inning with a bases-clearing double. For the game, the shortstop was 1-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Cordon said.
