Shamrocks Rally For Late Win Over Canucks
|
The Pacifica Shamrocks bested the Moose Jaw Canucks by a score of 8-7, with center fielder Jorge Cardenas getting the main credit. On the day, Cardenas went 3 for 4 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Shamrocks. Reliever Gideon Harrison picked up the win. His record improves to 3-5. Andres Garza took the loss. The Shamrocks go to 23-37, putting them 5th in the RCLAA Gene Mauch Division.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With no one out, Cardenas hit a changeup from Andres Garza for a run-scoring single. The Shamrocks, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
In postgame remarks, Cardenas said: "To all who've been doubting my effort -- I hope they saw this game."
