The Marysville Monarchs went home winners at Mitts Fieldhouse, thanks in large part to starter Bill Montes. Montes stifled the Roaring River Steelheads, enabling Marysville to grab the 6-0 win. Montes, now 3-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Steve Kunz closed out the game, earning his 2nd save.

Sean Cantrill drew 1 walk for Marysville. The 21-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Davian Viteka. It was his 3rd RBI of the season.

Cantrill attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."

The Monarchs are now 23-29, while the Steelheads fall to 21-31.
