Texans Double Up Butterflies, 4-2
|
Dallas pitcher Wilfredo Velez had a large part in his team subduing the Pennsylvania Butterflies, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. In 7.2 innings, Velez surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Dallas has a mark of 3-1 after the win.
Dallas used a well-timed hit by Jose Leyba to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Texans ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"No time for posing," said Velez. "The next game will be here before you know it."
