The Sandy Springs Spartans defeated the Pacifica Shamrocks, 9-7, at The Coliseum. Mike Pack was a standout performer for Sandy Springs. His 2 hits included 1 single and 1 double -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 2 he knocked in. Sandy Springs reliever Justin Bailey picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Edwin Mendiola was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Spartans sport a record of 30-29.

The Shamrocks had been locked in a 5-5 tie with the Spartans going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old right fielder William Martinez came to the plate. Martinez hit a 2-run double on a 2-0 fastball from Pacifica hurler Edwin Mendiola. It was Martinez's 2nd double of the year.

"It feels good to get this one," Pack told the Sandy Springs Today.
