Fraser Valley Offense Goes Belly-Up Versus Henley, Spartans
|
Sandy Springs got a first-rate effort from pitcher Justin Henley, who frustrated Fraser Valley hitters en route to a 3-0 Spartans triumph at The Stetson Bowl. The save went to Bobby Matthews, his 3rd this season. The Black Bears, at 22-25, have lost 6 straight games.
Henley tossed 105 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the Spartans. The right-hander allowed just 1 hit, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.
"The bar for us is not a particular opponent, it's ourselves," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso.
