The Wolverines had to overcome a good performance from San Antonio pitcher Jose Soto to claim a 2-1 win at The Clone Army. Soto went 7.2 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Wichita, at 26-28, sits in 4th place in the TMLAA Jim Leyland Division.
Steve Hilario had a big run-scoring single for the Wolverines in the top of the fourth inning. With Wichita leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a knuckleball from Jose Soto and stroked the single to center. It was his 54th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolverines ahead, 2-0.
Hilario called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
