The Spartans grabbed a win, 8-7, at The Coliseum, overcoming a fine effort from Fraser Valley pitcher Chris Roberts. Roberts went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. The 4th-place Spartans improved to 27-26.

In the bottom of the third, 23-year old catcher Ron Goodwin hit a 3-run home run. The 2nd home run of the season for the Sandy Springs designated hitter put the Spartans on top, 5-2.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Goodwin.
