Beaumont Decked, 7-3, by Whitecaps
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Beaumont Drillers and Boston Whitecaps get after it.
The Boston Whitecaps cut down the Beaumont Drillers by the score of 7-3, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Mike Brothers. Brothers went 2 for 3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Whitecaps. Boston pitcher Harvey Ortiz got the win, upping his record to 4-2. Axel Borens got the loss. Franklin Sprague earned the save for Boston, his 17th.
In the bottom of the second, Boston right fielder Henry Pitcher had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and two out, Pitcher stroked a 2-run single to left. It made the score 4-0, Boston. For the game, he was 1-3 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.
"It never gets old," said Pitcher. "Winning, that is."
The win makes Boston 30-16.
