Rats Subdue Fraser Valley, 4-2
|
The Rock River Rats downed the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 4-2, at The Stetson Bowl. The Rats were led by David Mejia, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. Picking up the save was Matthew Gottlieb, his 3rd. With the victory, the Rats record now stands at 18-33.
Rock River relied on the hitting of Edgar Espinoza to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rats on top, 3-0. For the game, Espinoza had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
Mejia told a Rock River Today reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
