West Leads Wolverines to Win over Hawks
The Wichita Wolverines defeated the Boise Hawks, 5-3. Earning player of the game honors was third baseman Scott West, who was 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs. Wichita reliever Marco Rangel got the win, raising his record to 2-2. Tim O'Shana was tagged with the loss. The Wolverines saw their win-loss record go to 24-27. At the same time, the Hawks fell to 27-26.

One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the top of the sixth inning. Facing Boise hurler Enrique Guadalupe, Steve Hilario, who leads the TAA in triples with 8, drew a walk. The Wolverines went on to win.
