Late Rally Earns Silicon Valley 3-2 Win
|
Niagara Falls got a terrific performance from pitcher Geoff Dwyer, but it wasn't enough to beat the Silicon Valley Hackers. Silicon Valley won the San Jose Municipal Stadium contest, 3-2. Dwyer threw 7.0 innings allowing 2 runs for the losing team. Silicon Valley pitcher Alex Caballero earned the win, hiking his record to 3-0. Danny Snow suffered the loss. The triumph puts Silicon Valley at 30-13 for the season.
Jason Chaney was the walk-off hero for Silicon Valley. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Hackers left fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Silicon Valley manager Jo-hsi Sang. "It's usually not just one thing."
