Wolverines in Free Fall, Lose 9th Straight
The Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters did just enough to secure a victory over the Wichita Wolverines, 4-3, in 10 innings at Pipe Fitters Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Mario Lopez. Niagara Falls reliever Steve Hoefling got the win, raising his record to 2-1. Orlando Sanchez was tagged with the loss. The losses continue to pile up for Wichita, which has now fallen 9 times in a row.

The decisive blow was delivered by Elijah Miller in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 20-year old left-handed pitcher Orlando Sanchez to win the game for Niagara Falls. The home crowd went nuts.

"Mario did what Mario does," said Niagara Falls manager Jonathan Kelly.
