The Moose Jaw Canucks defeated the Silicon Valley Hackers, 10-5, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. Leading the charge for Moose Jaw was first baseman Matt Cano. He went 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Jim Metcalfe, who went 7.2 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 5. His record now stands at 3-0. The loss makes Silicon Valley 34-16.

The Canucks got a big hit from designated hitter Pat Tufts. Facing Silicon Valley pitcher Bo Ferguson in the top of the fifth, Tufts pounded a run-scoring double to left-center. His 18th double of the season put the Canucks ahead, 3-1.

"The credit goes to our offense," said Moose Jaw manager Paul Johnston.
