Boise beat Kelowna on the strength of starting pitcher Dustin Brindle's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 7-2. Brindle yielded 1 run over 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 8. His record improves to 1-0. Boise currently is in last place in the RCL AA Lou Piniella League at 8-34.

Josh Polkowski had a big 2-run double for the Hawks in the bottom of the second inning. With Boise leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Eric Thornton, who is tied for 5th in the RAA in complete games with 2, and swatted a double to right. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 4-1.

"Winning is hard sometimes," said Hawks manager . "This one was nice to get."
