Victory Over Red Bulls Takes Spokane to 29-19
|
In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
The Spokane Bulldogs outlasted Edwin Munoz and the Riverside Red Bulls, 9-7. Munoz was impressive in the loss. The Riverside shortstop went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Spokane reliever Carlos Mendez picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Nate Ezzo took the loss. Drew Shelton recorded his 22nd save for Spokane.
Spokane used a timely hit from John Adams to get the win. The left fielder delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bulldogs on top, 7-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was a solid team effort," said Adams after the game.
Spokane is now 29-19. Riverside is 23-27.
