The Silicon Valley Hackers got a strong performance from pitcher Ozzie Pedro, who stymied the Murraysville offense en route to a win, 5-1, at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The win puts Silicon Valley at 22-18 this season.

Peter Johnston had a big 2-run home run for the Hackers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Silicon Valley leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from Steve Matkin and swatted a home run to right. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hackers ahead, 3-0.

"Ozzie did a tremendous job," said Silicon Valley manager Brad Jones.
