The first-place Silicon Valley Hackers took on the Beaumont Drillers in front of a spirited crowd.

The exploits of second baseman Dan Carnes, who is tied for 3rd in the RAA in hits with 58, helped the Silicon Valley Hackers defeat the Beaumont Drillers, 13-0. Carnes hit 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times. Silicon Valley starter Edgar Arredondo was credited with the win after throwing 127 pitches over 8.1 innings. His record now stands at 5-1.

With Silicon Valley leading 7-0 in the bottom of the sixth, Carnes came up to bat against Beaumont pitcher Luis Mojarro. Carnes hit a fastball to left for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Hackers on top, 10-0.

Beaumont manager Takuzo Kaneshiro summed up his team's performance in one word: "Pathetic."

The Hackers improved to a lofty 33-14.
