Seagulls Earn 3-2 Home Win
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Clearwater Seagulls and the Madison Beehive, Kurtis Rumsey, who is tied for 4th in the TAA in complete games with 2, proved to be the difference. The Clearwater right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Seagulls win. The Seagulls improved their record to 19-22 by beating Madison.
Had Bill Colwell not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Colwell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Seagulls.
"This was a tough loss," said Madison manager Leon Morris. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
