Royals Beat Shamrocks, 4-2, at Windsor Grounds
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Windsor Grounds enjoyed a good ballgame.
Josh Caldwell, who is tied for 4th in the TAA in innings pitched with 57.1, was locked in. The left-hander led the Windsor Royals to a 4-2 win against the Pacifica Shamrocks at Windsor Grounds. Caldwell, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. Nick Pratt earned the save for Windsor, his 12th.
The Royals got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Miguel Espinosa. For the game, Espinosa went 1 for 1 with a double. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Windsor a 1-0 lead.
Pacifica manager Ben Bobzien, after the game, said, "Right now, we're just not getting that big hit."
At 24-16, the Royals claim second place in the TML AA Bruce Bochy Division.
