The Atlantic City right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Rollers win. In 6.2 innings, Nichols surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The last-place Rollers bumped their record to 13-26.

John Dunaway took Rock River hurler Tony Facio deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run home run put the Rollers on top, 2-0. In all, Dunaway had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
