It was a fun time at Howling Park, where the Carson City Mustang and Wichita Wolverines tangled.
Wichita right-hander Ma-huan Chen pitched his team to a shutout win, 3-0, over the Carson City Mustang. Chen went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-2. Bengt Beekman recorded his 10th save for Wichita.
Tanner Handel, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA in RBI with 36, chipped in for Wichita with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 RBI.
"Enjoyed this one," Chen told the Wichita Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
