Buzzard's Bay Beats Fraser Valley, 5-3

The skies opened up and the rain fell at The Coffee Grinder.
The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats picked up a win at The Coffee Grinder, knocking off the Fraser Valley Black Bears, 5-3. Starting pitcher Jeremy Turner was a big reason why. Turner, now 4-1, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 10, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. Getting the save was John Peters, his 8th.
The Beetlecats got a big at-bat from first baseman Ted Illig. For the game, Illig was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave Buzzard's Bay a 3-2 lead.
After the game, Buzzard's Bay manager Dorian Payne applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
The win puts the Beetlecats at 21-16, while the Black Bears drop to 19-19.
