Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Steve Larson, the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters lost to the Rock River Rats, 7-6, in 10 innings. Larson was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Brad Dillinger closed the door for Rock River, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The win puts the Rats at 28-15, while the Pipe Fitters drop to 27-14.

Pierce Gagne chipped in for Rock River, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning. For the game, the third baseman went 2-4 with 2 singles and 2 walks.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Rock River manager Shunso Sato.
