The Boston Whitecaps topped the Madison Beehive, 4-2, in TML AA action at The Hive. The standout performance belonged to Boston pitcher and Havana, Cuba, native Victor Cortez. Nick Merritt closed the game out for Boston, earning his 7th save. At 19-16, the Whitecaps are currently second in the TML AA Jim Leyland Division.
Brenton Perfect had a direct impact on the outcome. Perfect contributed a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put Boston up, 3-0.
"I'm happy we won," said Cortez. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
