Loss Diminishes Fine Performance by Sarracines
The Fraser Valley Black Bears overcame a good performance by Spokane third baseman Diogo Sarracines to knock off Spokane, 6-5, at The Stetson Bowl. Sarracines was 4 for 4 with 2 triples and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Steve Noonan wrapped it up, recording his 9th save. The Black Bears now have a record of 19-15 with the win over Spokane.

The Black Bears got a big at-bat from first baseman Jim Ferguson. For the game, Ferguson was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Fraser Valley a 5-3 lead.

"You need to show up when your number's called," said Ferguson.
