Montreal Mounties starter Leonardo Cortez turned in a sterling performance against the Eagle Rock Ridge Runners, leading his team to a slim, 3-2 win. The Mounties now have a mark of 25-12.
The Mounties got a big at-bat from right fielder Leil Moorthy. For the game, Moorthy was 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Montreal a 2-1 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Eagle Rock manager Paco Berroa said, following the tough loss.
