Neal Rips 2 Home Runs in 6-2 Steelheads Triumph
|
The Roaring River Steelheads dealt the Sandy Springs Spartans a 6-2 loss at The Coliseum. Larry Neal, who is tied for 5th in the RAA in extra base hits with 14, slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Mike Vega was the winner. Over 7.1 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 5 hits, with 5 walks and 4 strikeouts. Dusty Miranda earned the save for Roaring River, his 4th of the year.
With Roaring River trailing 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Neal hit a fastball from David Maki for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Steelheads ahead, 3-2.
"We had a nice day," said Roaring River skipper Mike Bouffard.
The loss makes Sandy Springs 21-12.
