Cornhuskers Top Pipe Fitters, 4-2
The DeKalb Cornhuskers racked up a win at The Corn Crib, bumping off the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters, 4-2. Jose Huerta, who started for DeKalb, pitched effectively for his team. Huerta picked up the win for DeKalb, going 7.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 8 hits. He now sports a record of 5-2. Picking up the save was Thimotée Ducrocq, his 1st.

The Pipe Fitters had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Cornhuskers going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old center fielder Dan Miller came to the plate. Miller hit a 2-run double on a full count changeup from Niagara Falls hurler Jay Gross. It was Miller's 5th double of the year.

"I went out and just tried to do my job," said Huerta.

The Cornhuskers are now 16-22, while the Pipe Fitters fall to 24-13.
