Boise turned a fine outing from starter Cory Hardey into a victory over the Wichita Wolverines at Howling Park. The final score was 9-1. The setback makes the Wolverines 11-21.

Matt Griffin had a big 2-run home run for the Hawks in the top of the third inning. With Boise leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a sinker from Ramon Franco, who is tied for 6th in the TAA in wins with 4, and swatted a home run to right-center. It was his 3rd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Hawks ahead, 3-0.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Hawks manager , "I like our chances."
