Whitecaps Beat Silicon Valley, 3-2
|
Boston turned a good effort from starting pitcher Jerry Pearson into a win over the Silicon Valley Hackers at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The final score was 3-2 in 10 innings. The win puts Boston at 18-13.
The game was at a stalemate until first baseman John Coburn came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Silicon Valley pitcher Josh Hoogewind, he hit a 2-0 cutter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boston on top, 3-2.
"Jerry had himself a pretty good evening," said Boston manager T.J. Hall.
