The Hawks grabbed a win, 6-5, at Howling Park, overcoming a fine effort from Wichita pitcher Luis Jacinto. Jacinto went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. The win was credited to Mario Cruz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Schaller took the loss. The loss puts Wichita at 11-20.

The game was at a stalemate until first baseman Matt Griffin came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Wichita pitcher Matt Schaller, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Boise on top, 6-5.

After the game, Boise manager applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
