The Clone Army was the site of a competitive game between the San Antonio Storm Troopers and Bradenton Marauders.
San Antonio third baseman Alejandro Reyes had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Reyes was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2, even as Bradenton beat the Storm Troopers, 4-3. Reyes was named the player of the game despite the loss. Mel Velasquez got credit for the win, improving to 3-4. He allowed 3 runs on 10 hits in 7 innings.
Bradenton left fielder Tony Rayna had a nice game. In the top of the third inning with two out, he belted a 3-run home run for the Marauders. It made the score 3-0, Bradenton. For the game, Rayna went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.
Rayna attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
The Storm Troopers fall to 17-19 and continue their wobbly start to the 2044 season.
