Welch Throttles Wauwatosa, 3-0
|
The Rock River Rats welcomed the Wauwatosa Indians to an night game at The Rat Hole.
Jimmy Welch, who is tied for 3rd in the TAA with a 9.2 K/9 rate, imposed his will on the Indians from the get-go. Relying mainly on his splitter, the right-hander spearheaded the 3-0 Rock River triumph. With the win, Rock River pushed its record to 20-14.
Welch was dominant for Rock River. The right-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts. He threw 106 pitches over 8 innings in the contest.
"I pretty much put my pitches where I wanted to," said Welch.
