The 6-5 Evanston win over Clearwater was due largely to Shane Ford. The Bishops designated hitter was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. At 20-12, the Bishops have played well so far.

Ford had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-2 fastball from Scott Perciavalle, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Bishops a 6-5 lead. It was the 8th home run of the year for Ford.

"Whenever I help the team," said Ford, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."
