The Clearwater Seagulls got a strong performance from pitcher Ed Ramos, who stymied the Sandy Springs offense en route to a win, 3-1, at The Coliseum. Ramos picked up the win for Clearwater, going 8 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-2. John Cochrane closed the door for Clearwater, picking up his 8th save of the year.

Clearwater went up, 3-1, on Zach Johnson's 8th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Johnson hit in the top of the ninth, left Sandy Springs pitcher Mike Hampton shaking his head.

"Ed gave us a really strong effort," said Clearwater manager Ayub Ndadaye.

The Spartans fall to 13-17 and continue their uninspiring start to the 2064 season.
