The 2044 season is getting ugly for Rock River.
In a tight contest at The Rat Hole, the Terra Linda Chargers edged the Rock River Rats by the score of 8-7. Terra Linda first baseman Cody Hendricks, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Picking up the save was Kevin Lewis, his 5th.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases loaded and one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when center fielder Chris Meter hit a run-scoring single. The Chargers went on to win.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Hendricks told the Terra Linda Gazette.
The Chargers, now 26-6, have played some good baseball in the early going.
