Gomez Roches, who is tied for 5th in the TAA in complete games with 1, played a key role in a gritty 2-1 Sandy Springs Spartans win against the Niagara Falls Pipe Fitters. Kevin Felson collected his 8th save. The loss makes Niagara Falls 9-18.

Ian Sturgeon, who is tied for 5th in the TAA in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Sturgeon contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Sandy Springs up, 1-0.

"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Sandy Springs manager Rafael Alonso. "That's what Gomez is right now."
