The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats earned a close win over the Murraysville Peacocks, thanks in part to Willie Fermin. The Buzzard's Bay left-hander, who is tied for 6th in the RAA in quality starts with 4, played a key role in the 3-2 victory. The save went to Matt Williams, his 6th this season. Buzzard's Bay is now 16-14.
Buzzard's Bay used a clutch at-bat from John Whitaker to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Beetlecats ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Joseph Kelley.
